Every small-business person faces the challenge of bringing in business quickly and easily. Here are three important strategies to incorporate into your sales process to swiftly close more business.

Get Clear

With every client or customer contact, get clear about the next action step you have to take and take it! Do you have to send an agreement, fax some information, forward a list of meetings and so on? Whatever it is, do it as soon as you can. Make sure the potential client is clear on any action they need to take. Repeat action steps before ending your meeting or phone call and set the next appointment.

Stay Visible

Stay in front of your prospects by sending them information on new ideas you have about their project, a recent article related to their business, information on the projects you are working on and so on. You can use a postcard, a copy of an article about your business or a newsletter.

Keep Your Pipeline Flowing

Make appointments with yourself on your calendar to do introductory calls, network, send out mailings, follow up on inquiries and get your proposals out ASAP. If you honor the appointments you make with yourself to take action, and if you do what you commit yourself to do, your pipeline will soon become packed with prospects, and your small business will thrive.
